Set up Pandora on a Samsung TV

  1. Launch Pandora on your Samsung TV.
  2. Select Log In to access an existing account or Sign Up to create a new one.
  3. If you select Log In, an activation code will appear. Keep the activation screen open while you complete the steps below.
  4. Activate your TV using one of these options:
    • Web: Visit the Pandora activation page and enter the code displayed on your TV.
    • Mobile: Open the Pandora app and go to Profile > Settings > Device Activation, then enter the code.
  5. Once activation is complete, follow the prompts on your TV to access Pandora.

Sort your collection from a Samsung TV

Sort stations as a Free or Plus user:

By default, your stations are sorted by Recently Played.

To sort your stations alphabetically instead, go to Settings > Content Settings and select A to Z.

Sort stations as a Pandora Premium subscriber:

By default, albums, playlists, and songs are sorted by when you added them to your collection. Stations are sorted by Recently Played, and artists are always sorted alphabetically.

You can change the default sorting for albums, playlists, songs, and stations to alphabetical by going to Settings > Content Settings > A to Z.

Delete stations from a Samsung TV

  1. Start playing the station you'd like to delete.
  2. Using the directional pad on your remote, press the center button to select the album art for the currently playing track.
  3. Select the option to Delete Station.

For Pandora Premium subscribers:

You can delete stations from your Samsung TV, but playlists can't currently be deleted from the TV. To delete a playlist, use the Pandora website or mobile app. Your changes will automatically carry over to your Samsung TV.

Explicit Content on Samsung TV

Explicit Content filtering is turned on by default for in-home devices like Samsung TVs, since these devices are often used in family settings.

To change your Explicit Content settings on your Samsung TV:

  1. Go to Settings > Content Settings.
  2. Adjust your Explicit Content settings as desired.
  3. Enter your current Pandora password when prompted to save your changes.

When the Explicit Content filter is enabled, Pandora will limit your stations to music that could play on daytime broadcast radio.

Note: This setting applies to all of your radio stations. It can't be applied to individual stations and doesn't apply to on-demand content.

Sign out of Pandora on a Samsung TV

To sign out of your Pandora account on your Samsung TV, click on Settings and select Sign Out.

Samsung TV Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble using Pandora on your Samsung TV, there are a few factors that can affect playback, including network connectivity or an error on the device itself. Try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Restart your TV: With the TV turned on, press and hold the Power button on your remote until the TV turns off and back on. You can also unplug the TV for 30 seconds, then plug it back in.

2. Check for updates: Go to Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now and install any available updates. Depending on your TV model, you may need to select All Settings first.

3. Clear the Pandora app cache: On supported models, go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Manage Storage. Select Pandora > View Details > Clear Cache.

If Device Care or the option to clear the cache isn't available, try reinstalling Pandora from the Apps menu instead. The steps to remove or reinstall an app may vary depending on your Samsung TV model.

4. Refresh your network connection: Unplug your router/modem for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Once the internet connection is restored, open Pandora and try listening again. If you're using Wi-Fi and continue to have trouble, try connecting your TV with an Ethernet cable, if available.

Note: Settings and menu options can vary depending on your Samsung TV model. If you're unable to find one of the options above, visit Samsung Support for steps specific to your TV.
