Pandora Stories

With Pandora Stories, Creators can curate playlists and mixtapes from Pandora's catalog, and personalize them by including Voice Tracks. In other words, Pandora Stories allow creators to expand your listening experience with even more exclusive content and commentary.

What is the difference between a playlist and a mixtape?

Just like playlists on Pandora Premium, Pandora Story playlists are sets of music or comedy tracks. Only Pandora Premium subscribers can access playlists directly, however; if you're not a Premium subscriber, you can listen to a playlist after viewing a short advertisement.

Mixtapes are also collections of music or comedy tracks which are curated by Pandora's creators, but they function more like radio stations. All listeners can access mixtapes, which do not have visible tracklists and which always play in shuffle mode.

What are Voice Tracks?

Voice Tracks are messages recorded by artists, creators, and featured guests that add context or commentary to your Pandora Stories listening experience.

Voice Tracks are not advertisements, (although they do sometimes include organic promotions of music, comedy or podcast releases); our intention is for Voice Tracks to improve your listening experience, and we encourage creators to use these messages to make you feel or learn something.

How do I find Stories on Pandora?

Pandora Stories will be recommended for you based on your listening habits. You can find them in the Featured Playlists section of For You, as well as via search.

Unlike other curated playlists, Pandora Stories will have a "talking head" icon alongside the Story title.

How do I save Stories?

When you open a Story, click Collect on the menu bar to save the program to your collection.

You can also download the Story for offline listening by selecting Download from the menu.

Can I listen to Pandora Stories offline, in my car, or on an in-home device?

While you will be able to listen to the playlist or mixtape portion of a Pandora Story, Voice Tracks will not play offline or on devices such as smart speakers, in-home devices or vehicles. However, we hope to bring them to more devices over time.

Who can create Stories for Pandora?

Stories can be curated by an individual or group creator. Individual creators could be a songwriter, comedian, or podcaster looking to share their perspective and tell a story. Group Creators could be record labels, brands, movements, or publications with a desire to connect with their followers through music.
If you'd like to apply to create Stories for Pandora, you can do that here.
